Following Leiria, the city of Coimbra will receive on the 4th, 5th and 6th of November the second stop of the technological products and services exhibition of the PT Group. Following the “PT close to you” concept, the objective of this exhibition is to get closer to its clients and its employees. 

Clients, local employees and institutional entities of the PT Group are the main target for this Road Show which personally involves the Executive Committee in a true “decentralization” through various economical and social impact events. In addition to  a tailor-made programme for the city of Coimbra, Portugal Telecom will mark its presence with the “PT close to you” truck where a selection of technological products and services from the PT Group will be made available. The local population will be invited to try, by visiting the truck, various PT Solutions which anticipate the future. Mobility, Broadband Internet, Cinema, 3rd Generation Mobile Services, Wi-Fi, ADSL, games, Private Networks, NetCabo, Video Conference, Digital TV, Tele-Surveillance and “Domotics” are some of the most advanced technology which the PT Group has to offer and are demonstrated in this exhibition.

Various commercial events have been organised during the three days in which the Road Show is in the Students’ Capital. Discounts on PT Comunicações products, offers of ADSL and NetCabo activations, and traffic offerings are some of the promotions which Portugal Telecom has available.
The Coimbra Road Show begins of the 4th of November with various internal events. Visits by the Executive Committee to various PT Comunicações, TMN and TV Cabo stores are some of the initiatives which have been organised. The objective of this event is to award both clients and employees of the PT Group. There will also be a Workshop entitled “Business Evolution – Future Perspectives”. The Executive Committee and all employees in Coimbra will discuss the Group’s new direction at the Coimbra Stadium.

The afternoon will be filled with various external initiatives with the objective of bringing the business society within the city closer to the PT Group where new Portugal Telecom technological solutions will be presented. Part of the agenda includes; a press conference in the Coimbra University Auditorium, a visit to the company Satelnet and to the Business Council for the Central region. During the Press Conference, Miguel Horta e Costa, Chairman of the Executive Committee will present the Road Show while  Rui Rodrigues from PT Corporate will explain what the Tele-Medicine Service is. João Bastos from PT Inovação will also explain how the Mediagraph equipment works. The last point of the visit during this day will be at the Business Council for the Central region (CEC)). Here, activities of the CEC and strategies of the PT Group will be made known.

At the end of the day, a dinner at the S. Marcos Palace will bring together the Executive Committee of the PT Group and various institutional guests, clients and the media. During this event, a protocol regarding e-municipality (purchasing of telecommunication products and services with special conditions for the Municipalities) will be signed between PT and the Coimbra City Council. This will be followed by a show by the Orfeon Group of Former Students of the University of Coimbra and the Orchestra. 250 people will be present.
