PT Comunicações reduced the fixed network prices and has passed the regional calls to local calls. 

As of 1st July PT Comunicações has reduced its fixed network prices on na average of 9.8% and passed all regional calls to the price of local calls. This way, all calls made up to a distance of 50 kilometres will be considered local calls, five times more on the 10 kilometre range currently in force.

The regional prices will cease (from 10 to 50 kilometres), and there will only be two tariff zones: local (up to 50 kilometres) and national (more than 50 kilometres).
The price of local calls falls 6% and the price of national calls falls 25%. In the economic schedule, between 21:00 and 09:00, on work days and also on weekends, PT will charge one single price (for both local and national calls) – 1 cent per minute (VAT included). The reduction in price per minute of national calls in economic schedule is of 72% in relation to the current prices.

The subscription price will not be changed and the pack (communications and subscription) lowers an average of 0.76%, representing an annual fall of 2.76%, considering an inflation rate of 2%.
