Sapo takes everyone to the big party
Thursday, November 25, 2004

On the 7th of December, SAPO will take to FIL (Lisbon International Fair) an event which promises many hours of music and fun. So that noone misses what is hoped to be a unique experience, SAPO offers to all passengers of Carris, CP and Metro, as well as one hundred Antral taxis, the trips on the nights of the 27th of November, the 4th and 7th of December.

“We present a brand, unique, striking and differentiated experience”. This is how Pedro Silva Nunes, Marketing Director of Residential Business at PT Comunicações, explained this event’s objective at a press conference held at the “Hard Rock Café Lisbon”.  A party that gives a new concept to an event by bringing together Live Music and D’jing, radical activities, virtual reality experiences and online gaming, therefore creating an “innovative and unique event which will bring the SAPO brand closer to its specific target” as explained by Pedro Silva Nunes.

With a strong focus on House Music, R&B and Hip Hop, dance music is something that there won’t be a lack of in the space with 10.000 m2, where an Amazonic  atmosphere will be recreated with vegetation, aromas and sounds.

But this isn’t everything. With alternative areas to the dance, virtual and radical zones, two other distinct spaces will also co-exist, the VIP area with a capacity for 3000 people and the Chill-Out area where specific DJ’s will be performing. An important element of this party is the partnership with the world’s most renowned music channel, MTV. This partnership will result in the first MTV LIVE in Portugal. MTV will bring in a foreign production team to record the event which will be transmitted the following week as well as a “making of” and much more. For Lorenzo Di Stefano, Director of MTV Portugal, “this is going to be a big challenge for everyone and it is another important step that seeks the preferences of the Portuguese general public”.

Another highlight is that SAPO will offer all passengers of Carris, CP and the Metro as well as one hundred Antral taxis, the trips made on the nights of the 27th of November, the 4th and 7th of December. On these nights, everyone can leave their car and home and travel safely and free of charge on public transport. The Secretary of State for Transports, Jorge Borrego was also present at the press conference for the presentation of SAPO Sound Bits and congratulated the organisation of the event as well as the partnership between SAPO and various public transport companies as “road safety during these types of parties should be a concern of those who organise them”.

For the Executive Deputy Chairman of PT Comunicações, Zeinal Bava, this party serves to “position and reinforce SAPO’s position in the youth segment”. During the press conference, Zeinal Bava also stated that “important partnerships were developed, especially with public transport companies” he also mentioned “the good work developed by Celso Martinho and José Carlos Baldino” Technical Director and Director of SAPO.
