PTMinha Voz, a PT Special for people with neuromotor handicaps was launched over a year ago. The Grid was the first option which was commercialised by PTMinha Voz and it aims at clients with high degrees of cognitive and neuromotor handicaps. Now, this line sees its range widened with the launching of IntelliMathics, IntelliPics Studio and IntelliTalk II. By using these new solutions, PT hopes to improve and simplify the day to day of those with special needs.
But what are these new solutions?
IntelliMathics is a program in the PTMinha Voz line which is aimed at clients with neuromotor handicaps as well as disabilities of cognitive nature, but can also be used in general learning, with characteristics that are aimed at making the learning of mathematics easier. The IntelliMathics allows one to listen to instructions, questions and answers through the use of a voice synthesiser in Portuguese, and to share graphs and activities with the PTMinha Voz – IntelliTalk II programme. The programme can be accessed by using a mouse, a touch screen monitor which is an option which is specially for people with difficulties in controlling the mouse, and also through the use of a joy stick.
IntelliPics Studio is another PTMinha Voz line program which is aimed at clients with neuromotor handicaps as well as disabilities of cognitive nature and it was created to create multimedia presentations. The program is easy to use because it uses a bar creating system on the computer screen through which one can choose and carry out a different number of tasks. Amongst other options, the user has drawing and painting tools, a gallery of 1500 images, a collection of 200 sounds, voice synthesizer in Portuguese and easy Internet access. With this, the user can carry out basic activities like colouring, drawing and painting or set off a video with the simple touch of a button.
Intellitalk II was created by PT for Clients with special needs who hope to have access to pedagogical activities and has an interactive text processor which, with the use of a speech synthesizer allows access to multimedia activities and to read out aloud any written text be it letter by letter, word by word or even phrase by phrase. The program was projected so as to give Internet users more independence by permitting the importation of any type of text via the Web as well as the possibility of reading out aloud emails sent and received.
With these new solutions, the PT Group demonstrates its social responsibility in helping those in need.
