VIVO sponsors the Brazilian Football Team

VIVO signed a contract with the Brazilian Football Confederation to sponsor the Brazilian teams.

Valid for ten years, the agreement includes the distribution of multimedia contents through the operator’s mobile telephones, as well as the use of the VIVO brand on accessories, transportation used by the teams and most of all, on the teams training gear. The company can also sign publicity pieces as the official sponsor. Francisco Padinha, Chairman of VIVO stated that “More than a sponsorship, this project consolidates a synergy of values. The Brazilian Team has world renowned attributes and is completely in line with the VIVO brand in having leadership, team spirit, creativity as well as the strong sense of being Brazilian”.

According to Ricardo Teixeira, Chairman of the Brazilian Football Confederation, the VIVO partnership with the Confederation is a union of the largest telecommunication service providers in the world with the biggest football product in the world, the Brazilian Team. “This union will permit better working conditions so that the Brazilian Team can continue on its road to success”.
The idea of associating the VIVO brand to the Brazilian Football Team came up in mid-2004. This agreement which has now been signed contributes to a strengthening of the VIVO brand amongst the public, seeing that they not only sponsor a team, but the company can get closer to all Brazilians.

In order to give this project some dimension, the company called upon a major celebrity, Gisele Bündchen. In a 30-second-film, the top model presents a new mobile telephone model, that not only has a sliding opening, allows the downloading of videos of the best parts of the games. The end of the advertisement shows Gisele in a Brazilian Football Team shirt and the signature of VIVO as official sponsor.
