Pertaining to the news published in today’s “Público”, which informs that PT Comunicações gathered detailed invoicing before having received a formal request from the judicial authorities for such, PTC states the following:

1. The content of this news is false;

2. The first request for detailed invoicing of the telephone number was issued on 10th April 2003, under the auspices of an order from the judge dated 31st March of the same year;

3. This judicial order, which comprises the judicial process, requests the detailed invoicing as of 1998;

4. PTC, once again reassures that it preserves data confidentiality, and thus complies with all the legal laws applicable to the availability of traffic data to competent authorities.
