The TV Cabo telephone has arrived

Today, PT Multimedia launched TV Cabo’s telephone service and assumes the role of a Triple Play operator by integrating Television, Internet and Voice services. From now on, it is possible to have all three services through a single operator, with a single invoice and  single technical assistance.

“Today is a historical day and an important day for TV Cabo. It is the realisation of one of this company’s dreams, to offer a Triple Play service to our clients”. With these words, Zeinal Bava, Executive Chairman of PT Multimedia summarised the culminating of a project which has been long awaited and only realised today – the launching of the telephone service – which makes TV Cabo an operator which is integrated in Television, Internet and Voice – 3 Play.

The new voice service will enrich the services offered by TV Cabo and will also simplify the lives of the operators clients, who can now have TV, Internet and Telephone through a single operator. The Executive Chairman of PTM underlined “the comfort of having three services in a single invoice” and recalled that “the process was complex. This was a project which we wanted to do slowly and well”.

In a statement to éPT!, the Chairman of the PT Group, Henrique Granadeiro, highlighted that “we have another growth factor in our client base. Until now, PTM was a complementary service to what was offered by the PT Group as it offered cable TV. The evolution of technology, today allows the cable network to offer TV, Internet and Voice in a manner which is completely safe and reliable. As of today, PTM is a complete Triple Play offer and is one of the most solid in the market”. On the other hand, the Chairman of PTM, Zeinal Bava, explained that “the PT Group has had the ambition of offering consumers the best services, at the best prices and with alternatives”.

In the first phase, the service is exclusively available to TV service clients, with Netcabo and a monthly subscription. Commercialisation will be mainly aimed at subscribers of broadband internet premium products, namely clients with Netcabos 8Mb service. For only 9,99 euros/month and with no extra costs, these clients can make unlimited calls to any fixed national network, at any time during the day.

TV Cabo has strongly invested in the improvement of the network (fibre optics and coaxial cable), both in terms of its architecture and also in terms of its infrastructures.
According to the Executive Chairman of PT Multimedia “since 2002, TV Cabo has made investments of over 450 ME. These investments allowed for the improvement of client services, the increase of internet traffic limits, the introduction of new contents and functions in the television service, and now, allows us to offer a 3 Play service including telephony”. Today, approximately 80% of the TV Cabo network is capable to offering the new voice service and, until 2007, this capacity will increase to 90%. The TV Cabo network is currently present in 2,8 millions homes, with a 100% digital architecture.

The TV Cabo voice service is compatible with any fixed telephone on the market. Subscription to this service can be done at any TV Cabo store, on the http://www.tvcabo.pt/ website of by calling 808 200 400.
