With the main objective of creating a digital network to serve the national community of Portuguese farmers, PT became technological partner of the most important confederations; CAP- Confederation of Portuguese Farmers; CAN - National Confederation of Agriculture, and Confagri.

This way, PT aims at increasing the reliability and efficiency of the current process of application, assuring also the payment in due time of the aid to farmers. The broadband network that was presented to the journalists today, is going to encompass 725 sites with ADSL coverage, it will have 1 200 reception stations to serve over 230 thousand farmers distributed throughout the 18 districts of Portugal.

Rodrigo Costa, Chairman of PT Comunicações, was present at the presentation of this project. Carlos Alves, Chairman of PT Corporate was also present as it was this company that contributed mostly towards the structuration and implementation of this multiannual project that will be finished on 5th May in Setúbal.
