Sapohome to simplify life at home

In partnership with Ydreams, at a press conference today PT Comunicações presented Sapohome, a product that allows you to access Internet via a touch screen in a very simple way from home. The contents are exclusively of SAPO Local, to bring users closer to their community
Sapohome is a pioneer. Via a ADSL connection, this product allows you to Access a set of information and services by a mere touch on a screen set up in one of the rooms of your house. It combines contents of SAPO Local, with the news, weather forecast, traffic or events taking place where you live and the most important services (such as pharmacies).
In a first phase, this product’s main public is the real estate sector that includes builders and real estate promoters as this solution makes all the sense in modern houses. However, in a second version, Sapohome is also going to be commercialised for the residential sector.
This product still has many possibilities of being integrated with new tools, such as Telesafety and Televigilence of PT or other domotics systems that turn your house into an intelligent one. ''Entertainment via IP TV, will also be a bet to complement this offer'' in the future, underlined Luís Lopes, Director at PT Comunicações. "I believe this concept is going to develop and its massification will be possible in adequate versions for the residential sector at much lower prices ", said Luís Lopes.
According to Tiago Silva Lopes, development manager of SAPO products, "this is already quite a complete offer for the needs of the users but it will be automatically updated in the future with no added cost ".”In addition to these advantages, Sapohome is going to allow to segment the information for more specific solutions such as, for the elderly ", underlined Tiago Silva Lopes.
Bearing in mind the simplification of life at home, bringing it closer to the new technologies, Sapohome presents an intuitive interface developed by YDreams, linked to contents of local nature, the most important to ''order a pizza'', said António Câmara, Chairman of YDreams.
Now, all we have to do is await an answer from the market. However, expectations are the best of all the intervenients in this project.
