The t Archive, launched today by TMN is the result of a partnership between the PT Group company and MobiComp, a Portuguese company which develops solutions for mobile business.
This new service, not only answers to clients needs to save the entire contents of their mobile telephone, but also allows clients to transfer data to a PC and from a PC to the mobile telephone. Through the use of a simple click or ''drag'', it is now possible to safeguard PC and mobile telephone contents and transfer them between them.
The t Archie allows for the visualisation of contents saved in the PC through the mobile telephone.
The service is a more developed and sophisticated version of the current TMN Backup which was launched by TMN in August 2005 and is a synonym on the tendency for convergence between the mobile telephone and the computer.
In case of theft, lose or Exchange of equipment, the information stored on the mobile telephone are, with a full guarantee of safety and confidentiality, saved in a virtual space provided by TMN, the t Archive.
One of the greatest novelties of t Archive is the fact that it allows to transfer all mobile telephone contents onto a PC through its own software. Also unique, is the possibility of some PC contents being visualised on the mobile telephone, at any time and from any location. It is the transfer of data between two channels as the user can access their contents wither on the PC or on the mobile telephone and selectively forward them from the first to the second and vice versa.
With the t Archive, all mobile telephone and PC content updates are safe through the automatic operations through a periodicity stipulated by the user.
An unquestionable advantage is the space that the client can free on their mobile telephone by sending the contents not needed on a regular basis, to the t Archive.
The t Archive is presently compatible with almost all of the most recent Nokia models and other brands such as Samsung (SGH-Z600, SGH-D720, SGH-D730, SGH-i520) and Sony-Ericsson (P910i).
Users of the now extinct TMN Backup are automatically, with no extra associated cost, clients of the t Archive and can from now on, benefit from its advantages. For this, all one needs to do is go into TMN Backup where they will then receive a warning informing of the updating to the t Archive. Alternatively, one can also send an SMS to 22200 with the word ''arquivo'' or ''arquivo t''.
TMN clients who have not yet signed up for the service may do so through the TMN site or by sending an SMS with the expression “arquivo t” to 22200. The downloading of the application onto the mobile telephone has a WAP unit connection cost of 0,35 euros. To download the new t Archive application onto a PC, all one needs to do is go to www.tmn.pt, where detailed information can be found pertaining to this service.
The monthly cost of this service is 1,49 euros for a 5 MB capacity. Clients who sign up to t Archive until the end of the year will be exempt from the first monthly cost.
The launching of the t Archive is inserted in the strategy followed by TMN in developing and updating all of its services to meet the technological evolution and the needs of its clients.
