TMN is the incontestable leader in the roaming service in Portugal as it provides this service in the largest number of countries in comparison to competitive operator
The GSM, GPRS, UMTS or HSDPA roaming agreements established by TMN allows one to communicate via a mobile telephone, practically in any part of the world, on land or sea, spreading out now to air space.
The TMN 3,5G data roaming service (HSDPA technology), spreads out across 40 counties. In 45 countries, TMN clients have the 3G (UMTS) coverage and in 212 countries, 2,5G (GPRS) coverage. The number of countries where clients can count on voice roaming services has risen to 198. The extension of TMN’s international roaming service coverage is, as seen by the number of countries covered, evidence of its leadership position also in this area.
Looking to find communication needs at any time and surpassing borders, TMN clients can also use the service on board maritime transports. Operating since the 1st of September, is TMN’s most recent functionality: voice (GSM) and data (GPRS) traffic on board Air France airplanes, due to the roaming agreement established with the operator On Air, which operates with the GSM 1800 technology. In the next six months, it is predicted that this service will also be extended to Ryanair and TAP airplanes. It is also expected that, by the end of the year, the coverage will be extended to other airlines through an agreement with another operator, AeroMobile.
TMN’s roaming offer is an example of the leadership of the operator in the sector, which positions itself daily in the perspective of eliminating any barriers which may put a stop on mobile communication freedom and the conquering of the well-being of its more than 5,8 million clients.
