TMN cards with 926 prefix
Monday, April 21, 2008
TMN is the first mobile operator in Portugal to use two number ranges: «96» and, as of this year, «926». This assignment is derived from TMN’s request to Anacom in April 2007, in order to satisfy the growing number of customers.
PT’s mobile operator is commercializing cards with «926» prefix. The assignment of this number range is caused by the growing number of TMN customers that upped to 6 million in October 2007.
By passing the 6 million customer mark, TMN reached an active customer occupation rate over 60% of the total numbering resources that it had available. Thus, it has resorted to the «926» number range from the National Numbering Plan, already assigned by Anacom (National Communications Authority) in April 2007.
The new TMN numbers with «926» prefix also have nine digits – 926 XXX XXX and can be acquired in a TMN sales outlet.
This widening of the card number range opens new perspectives of growth for the Portuguese mobile operator, whose rates of activation of data services have gone beyond all expectations, both in the business and consumer markets.
