Higher access speeds and traffic limits
Monday, November 17, 2008
Responding to the growing popularity of mobile broadband, TMN and Sapo have doubled the access speeds and raised traffic limits. Prices remain unchanged, but the service has become even better

As of now, TMN and Sapo mobile broadband customers benefit from an improved offering. They can enjoy higher speeds as well as higher traffic limits to surf the internet, in the various tariff options. The price remains unaltered.

In the case of banda larga light tariff, costing 22.31 Euro per month, TMN and SAPO now offer twice as much speed, up to 1 Mbps.

As to banda larga, costing 29.65 Euro per month, speed has also been doubled to 2 Mbps and the traffic limit has changed from 2 GB to 3 GB.

Banda larga plus tariff, costing 39.57 Euro per month, now supports speeds up to 4 Mbps (instead of the previous 3.6 Mbps), with a 6 GB traffic limit.

Portugal Telecom’s brands consolidate thus the first place in terms of quality of service in internet access in Portugal, according to a study disclosed recently by DECO consumers’ association.

TMN and SAPO maintain their unlimited traffic campaign, now supporting higher speeds. TMN and SAPO broadband can be used throughout the country, supported on the 3.5G, 3G and GPRS networks. Outside Portugal, broadband can also be used on the networks of the operators already supporting this technology.

Wi-Fi hotspots in Portugal and abroad

The benefits of being a TMN or SAPO customer also include the possibility of accessing TMN mobile broadband via the more than 1,500 WiFi hotspots throughout the country. These include several public areas, namely hotels, airports, filling stations and shopping malls.

The TMN hotspot network extends outside the home territory and covers Europe, Asia and the United States of America, totalling 30,000 internet access zones.
