Featuring an elegant design and upmarket finishing, the Samsung Omnia will be available on the market as of the end of July. Its price starts at Euro 99.90 for 24-month post-pay plans (Euro 89.90 if you return your old phone), or Euro 479.90 for a pre-pay plan, as part of the new TMN’s Special Edition. According to Luís Avelar, Member of the Board, PT, “TMN presents the most competitive offer on the market, either in terms of tariffs, or in terms of the product itself”. As to the existing relationship between TMN and Samsung, Luís Avelar states that Samsung has been a preferential partner in TMN’s launch of new exclusive products. This partnership has been a success throughout the years and we hope it will continue in the future”.
The most complete touch-screen smartphone on the mobile communications market has just arrived in Portugal. João Lopes, marketing manager of Samsung’s mobile division, says: “we have in our hands a very powerful mobile phone, a real professional machine with top technology: 5-megapixel camera, multimedia, mobile TV, Windows Mobile, extendable memory and GPS”.
Real and dynamic multimedia experience
The Samsung Omnia features a 3.2” WQVGA LCD screen and allows high-resolution video and slide viewing. It reads DivX, Xvid and other video formats, avoiding format conversion.
This mobile phone has an integrated 5-megapixel camera and a large set of photo and video functionalities, including auto-focus, image stabilizer, face and smile detection and auto-panorama shot. The available internal memory is 8 GB with an extendable slot up to 26 GB.
The Samsung Omnia also features a GPS, including navigation and geo-tagging capabilities as well as a map of the Iberian Peninsula.
The PC on the mobile phone
The new mobile phone is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and comes packed with Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel and Word) so it can be considered a PC extension. It also allows email reception and agenda management via Excel.
