Meo just launched the new DVR Full HD Satellite Box. This digital receiver allows the access to several features, only available via IPTV, which will make the Meo Satellite user experience closer to IPTV
Today, 30 October, PT launches Meo Satellite’s new digital receiver: the DVR Full HD Satellite Box, HD-ready and with incorporated Digital Recorder, allowing up to 300 hours recording time. With the new MeoBox, Portugal Telecom’s satellite television platform makes the user experience of the DTH (Direct-To-Home) satellite service closer to the IPTV experience.
Meo Satellite customers can now access several features, in the satellite reception, only available on Meo IPTV up to now. The DVR Full HD Satellite MeoBox is a Philips-made equipment, with High Definition program reception capability, an incorporated Digital Recorder (DVR with 320 GB hard disk drive), allowing, apart from 300 hours of recording time, the total control of the television transmission (pause, go back and resume at will) and the looking up of 7 days of programming in Meo’s TV Guide.
New MeoBox’s TV Guide is also presented in a programming grid format, allowing the looking up and the recording in a simpler and more intuitive way, similar to the functionality present on Meo IPTV.
This new MeoBox, available throughout the country, allows the immediate or manually scheduled start of a recording, through the TV Guide or the Programming Bar, facilitating the personalised management of the recordings through the creation of personal folders, and enabling access conditioning to recorded contents through a PIN code.
Another novelty is the possibility of creating chapters in a recording, similar to the DVD chapters. It is possible to create up to 30 chapters, facilitating a later access to the most important moments of the recording.
With this launch, Meo Satellite delivers a television experience each time closer to IPTV.
