In the scope of its international strategy, in which Africa plays a fundamental role, Portugal Telecom, in partnership with Benfica (SLB), will offer the live transmission of the Benfica - Napoli match to Portuguese-speaking African countries.

This is an unprecedented initiative, which will enable a special Benfica TV broadcast in Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe, simultaneous with the broadcast in Portugal. Thus Portuguese football fans, Benfica lovers and sports fans in general, living in these African countries, will be able to watch this game on 2 October: a broadcast that comprises a universe of 44 million Portuguese-speakers.

This transmission is yet an example of PT’s international strategy, marked both by growth and value-creation of the operations in which it participates, but also by community involvement in the countries where it is present.

National television stations TPA (Televisão Pública de Angola), RTC (Rádio Televisão de Cabo Verde), TVM (Televisão de Moçambique), Soico TV (Moçambique), TIM (Moçambique) and TVS (Televisão de São Tomé) will transmit this UEFA Cup match, on 2 October, around 8:15 PM.

This involvement strategy was also evident during the tour of Sport Lisboa Benfica, a club sponsored by PT, to Cape Verde and Angola, during which the logos from CV Móvel and Unitel were used on Benfica’s kit.
