CNID – MEO Awards 2009 delivered in Porto

The TMN BlueStore in Porto was the chosen venue for another awards delivery ceremony of the CNID-Meo Awards 2009, on 27 October last.

António Florêncio, chairman CNID | Proceeding with its strategy of support for the practice of sport, Portugal Telecom, through the Meo brand, associated itself with CNID – Association of Sports Journalists – by sponsoring the delivery of the CNID-Meo Awards 2009 to prominent Portuguese sports personalities: Jesualdo Ferreira, Bruno Alves, Hulk and to FCP’s Roller Hockey team.
Carlos Oliveira from TMN’s department of own stores, António Florêncio, chairman of CNID, Pinto da Costa, chairman of FCP, Carlos Queirós, coach of the Portugal Squad, journalists and other sports personalities attended the event.
FCP’s main Roller Hockey team was honoured as Team of the Year. The Revelation Award went to Hulk, FCP football player. Bruno Alves was honoured as Football Player of the Year and Jesualdo Ferreira as Coach of the Year.
Portugal Telecom’s policy of support for the practice of sport assumes the form of support for football by sponsoring Portugal’s Big Three and the National Squad, and for other disciplines as well such as surf, tennis or car racing, by sponsoring young promises of Portuguese sport.
