As of tomorrow Meo will include channel FOX HD in its offering as an exclusive. Brighter and clearer images, more vivid colours and enhanced definition will be available on the new high definition channel for customers subscribing pack “Entertainment” or the 100-channel offer.
The new high-definition channel occupies position 61, whereas the standard version of FOX will move to position 62. Meo will thus have an offering with 8 high-definition channels.
Portugal is the third market where Fox International Channels has launched this high definition channel, after Italy and Latin America. High definition prime time broadcasting, between 9:30 PM and 0:30 AM, will reach a rate of 95% in September. Non HD content will be converted to HD and broadcast using upconversion/upscale technology. This is an innovative format for HD channels, featuring TV shows and entertainment, broadcast in Portugal and allows rendering the image more homogeneous throughout the broadcast, thus minimising spectator impact.
