It is called bluebelt and it is the first smartphone with the TMN brand name in Portugal. New tmn bluebelt stands out for being an upscale 3.5G smartphone with NDrive GPS, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, 3.2 Mpx camera, touch-screen and access to a variety of online content. This model is already available at the TMN Virtual Store at an unbeatable price
TMN takes yet another step towards massifying the use of smartphones by launching the first smartphone with the tmn brand name – tmn bluebelt. It is a high-end 3.5G smartphone, supporting speeds up to 7.2 Mbps, real-time email, lifelong licence for the NDrive GPS device with real cartography of the cities of Lisbon and Porto and an application for permanent traffic information management, a TMN exclusive. Highlight goes also to the multimedia functionalities such as the 3.2 Mpx camera with autofocus and zoom capabilities, video camera, mp3 reader, Windows Live Messenger, Meo Mobile and tmn Desktop, an application providing direct access to contents.

The latest model in TMN’s portfolio is already available at the TMN Virtual Store for Euro 179 and will soon be acquired at the usual retail outlets for Euro 199 for private customers or Euro 11.22 per month for business customers, with up to 100 MB downloads for 24 month contracts. This high-end smartphone will also be part of TMN’s Office Box offering.
A clear leader in the offer of smartphones in Portugal, holding a 69% market share in terms of operators in this segment in the first quarter of 2009, according to a GFK survey, TMN takes thus another step towards massifying the use of smartphones by launching the tmn bluebelt.
A multimedia communication campaign will start on next 8 March, involving television, press and Internet to make known the new tmn bluebelt smartphone.
TMN AppStore
In order to stimulate the use of the tmn bluebelt as well as other devices equipped with Windows Mobile, TMN presents the TMN AppStore in cooperation with Microsoft. It is a location at http://www.tmn.pt/ website, from where TMN customers may download Windows Mobile applications. It is also a presentation platform for young talent in the development of new solutions in this area. Young programmers may develop and submit their applications to be made available for TMN customers at the price required by the designer: Euro 0, 0.5, 1.2 or 4 (20% VAT included) of which they will receive 50%.
